![]() ![]() It’s the kind of novel every school library should stock. This is an emotional read but by the end of the novel I felt content that Liv would be OK and she would make sure Isaac would be too. I can’t imagine what losing a parent is like but I can’t imagine anyone knows how to handle it very well – let alone an 11 year old child. Once Liv’s mum dies we see her struggle to come to terms with it and managing even the simplest daily tasks become a challenge. Jake shook his head as though only now noticing the other woman was present. “Er, ladies’ room, boss,” Jess said, breaking the link. She forgot Jess was there as her gaze locked with Jake’s and she saw the same heat reflected in his eyes. Instead, she stood there like an idiot, staring at him and trying not to remember that only half an hour ago he’d been on top of her. Kim had an immediate urge to sink through the floor. When she didn’t move, he glanced around and then stepped into the room. She peeked down at the towel, which was all she wore. Kim sighed, but her relief was short-lived. The door opening interrupted her protestations of innocence.
